Contracts can be associated with hardware assets to provide additional visibility into the financial and contractual details relevant to a hardware asset. This includes a direct link from an asset to a warranty, an asset to a lease and an asset to a support contract, as well as to business contacts and contractual terms and conditions. With such a link, it is possible to view all of the assets related to the contract. You can also edit the contract directly from the asset. When a contract and a hardware asset are linked, a highlighted message in the asset indicates when the contract expires. The message highlighting is colored to indicate certain conditions, see Understanding contract expiration indicators.
